2009 LowCal250 Rally Results - 2008 LowCal250 Rally Results

The LowCal 250 Motorcycle Rally to Benefit the PKD Foundation is an event that starts and stops at San Diego BMW Motorcycles. It is open to all adventurous riders on any street-legal motorcycle. Riders should expect to cover about 250 miles throughout San Diego County (and beyond?) to be competitive.

The 8-Hour Mini Rally is defined as a self-navigating bonus-hunting rally:

  • Sign-in - 7:00am to 7:15am.
  • Riders' Meeting - 7:20am sharp.
  • Rider's Individual Route Planning - 7:45am to 8:30am.
  • Odometer check-out with the Rally Master and start your 8-hour clock - no later than 9:00am!
  • Arrive back at SDBMWMC for Odometer check-in, Scoring and BBQ - 5:00pm.
  • Stories, Swag, and Awards - 6:30pm.

Because this rally is a single day event, there is a limit to the number of riders that can be efficiently scored. Sign up early to ensure you have a scored slot.

You must have a functioning odometer; no formal tech inspections will take place. No special equipment is necessary to participate in the rally this year -- no Polaroid cameras, no auxiliary fuel systems, no roll-chart holders or enduro computers. You may use a computer to assist in planning your route. A GPS unit is recommended to help locate some locations "between addresses", but is not necessary. A digital camera with a sufficient preview screen is recommended, but is not specifically required for point scoring this year.

Because the sponsor, San Diego BMW Motorcycles, is providing dinner and covering all the costs of operating the rally, your entire "entry fee" will be a 100% deductible donation to the PKD Foundation * (The majority of donations have been between $50 and $100, but any amount you decide is welcome!!).

* Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) affects 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million children and adults worldwide. Visit PKDcure.org to find out more about the only organization worldwide dedicated to promoting research to find a cure for PKD and improving the care and treatment of those it affects.
